How to Maintain Your Gel - Filled Cushion
Taking care of your gel-filled cushions is simple and helps keep your furniture comfortable and looking great for years.
Fluff & Rotate the Cushions
Gel cushions are designed to move and relax. Lightly fluffing and rotating them helps distribute wear evenly and keeps the comfort wrinkles natural and soft.
Avoid Sharp Objects
Keys, pet claws, and sharp accessories can snag or puncture upholstery. Try to keep rough items away from the seating surface.
Clean Spills Quickly
Blot- don't rub - any spills with a clean, dry cloth.
For deeper cleaning, use a mild fabric cleaner recommended for upholstery. Always test in a hidden spot first.
Keep Away From Direct Sunlight
Like all upholstered furniture, long exposure to direct sunlight can fade or dry out the fabric.
Position pieces away from windows or use curtains to limit UV exposure.
Avoid Sitting on the Arms
Gel seating is designed for even weight distribution across the seat. Avoid sitting or standing on the arms or back of the furniture to maintain its structure.
Allow Cushions to Recover
After long periods of use, cushions may look compressed - this is normal. Simply give them a few minutes to bounce back. Gel naturally returns to its full, supportive shape.
Vacuum Gently
Use a soft upholstery attachment to remove dust and keep seams clean. This helps maintain the fabric and prevents dirt from settling into fibers.
Comfort Wrinkles Are Normal With Gel-Filled Cushions
When you choose furniture with gel-filled cushion, you're choosing comfort. With that comfort comes a natural and expected look called comfort wrinkles.
Why Comfort Wrinkles Happen
Gel seating is designed to move, flex, and shape to your body. This creates a softer, more relaxed feel- very different from stiff, firm foam. Because the cushions gently compress and expand, light wrinkles will appear on the surface.
